Security Deposit Policy ($500 CAD)

Know more on the security deposit and payment details.
We support Visa, Mastercard, American Express and UnionPay.

Overview

To ensure the safety of the property and maintain high standards for all guests, a security deposit of $500 CAD is required. This system utilizes a Pre-Authorization method rather than a direct charge.

Key Distinction: This is not a purchase. The money is simply "locked" in your account. It does not leave your bank unless damages are found.

1. Initial Card Validation and Delayed Check

When you first add your payment method, an initial check ensures the card format is valid. A couple of hours later, a secondary validity check is performed.

  • The Action: The secondary check verifies the card is active and not expired.
  • Important: If the secondary check reveals the card is invalid, we will immediately send an email notification to the customer requiring a replacement payment method. If the payment cannot be completed, the reservation will be cancelled.

2. The "Hold" (Pre-Authorization)

Approximately 24 hours prior to check-in, the system initiates the actual hold. This is the Pre-Authorization event.

Standard Purchase

Money leaves account immediately.

Appears as a "Debit" or "Purchase" on your bank statement.

Our Deposit (Hold)

Money stays in account but is frozen.

Appears as "Pending," "Auth," or "Hold" on your bank statement.

Note on Credit Limits: While the money is not taken, the $500 CAD is deducted from your available credit limit for the duration of the stay.

3. Inspection & Release Window

The hold is automatically scheduled for release 5 days after your stay, strictly subject to a property inspection.
